IFAJ’s Riitta Mustonen, Finland, and vice-president Lena Johansson, Sweden, were jury members in the first Nordic food contest, called Embla.
The Embla contest, named after the first woman in Nordic mythology, is designed to promote Nordic cuisine. It highlights producers, entrepreneurs, innovators and communicators in seven categories.
The contest was established by the Nordic Council, and is coordinated by Nordic farmers’ organizations. Every member in the council provides a jury consisting of a chef, a farmer and a communicator.
There was one winner each from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland, and three winners from the Faroe Islands.
