SOMESHA excited to open their newly designed website

The Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) is augmenting its news coverage across Somalia after nine consecutive years of daily operational news reporting and dissemination. The IFAJ member guild is using the global social media tool better known as WordPress through which its bloggers, traditional media professionals and citizen journalists can take initiative towards media better practices.

SOMESHA is an association of journalists and media practitioners who are specialized in expanding and improving media coverage of key national issues, including climate change, the environment, agriculture, science, public health, migration, peace-keeping and civil insecurity.

The members of SOMESHA are professionals whose mission is to tell the world about the substantial challenges of related to the environmental concerns in the country which are otherwise lacking in coverage. They are journalists and media professionals including reporters, editors, webmasters and producers working for all media outlets in the country.

SOMESHA is non-profit and non-governmental association, which is an umbrella body of professionals from many different families in different districts and represents over 30 journalists nationwide. It’s the second largest organization bringing together journalists in Somalia and is a recognized body within the media structure that operates in Somalia.
