Jacques van Outryve has been Belgium’s representative in IFAJ’s executive committee for almost 20 years. This year he has resigned. His successor in the committee is Dorien Coleman, a reporter at the agriculture weekly Landbouwleven.
Jacques van Outryve started to work as an agriculture journalist in 1980. He became the president of the Belgian guild BVLJ-ABJA in 1997 and served as president for more than 10 years.
Since 1998 he was the Belgian representative for the IFAJ Executive committee, highly respected and appreciated by other committee members for his honesty and commitment.
Belgian’s new committee member, Dorien Coleman, was an Alltech Young Leader at the IFAJ congress 2016 in Bonn. She has only been working as an agricultural journalist for two years, but after attending the IFAJ congress in Germany she was inspired to write about agriculture more.
“I think that agricultural journalists have such an important task to fulfill. I’m really looking forward to working with the executive committee” says Dorien Coleman.
